Naita Agreement

On August 2, 2018, INSEE Cement signed a significant tripartite agreement with the National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) and the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) to launch the Sri Lankan Masons` Skills and Knowledge Development Program. The agreement was signed in the presence of Hon. (Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Kandyan Minister of Science, Technology, Research, Skills Development and Vocational Training and Heritage. In 2017, China Merchants Port Holdings (CMPH) signed a three-year deal with NAITA. Under the agreement, cmph would upgrade NAITA`s training facilities, while NAITA would help the Hambantota International Port meet the standards needed to define training programs and qualification certifications, etc. By signing this agreement, INSEE Cement will hold full-day knowledge exchange meetings following a preliminary assessment conducted by NAITA at the beginning of the training. Over the course of a year, several meetings will be held throughout Sri Lanka, with the participation of new groups of 100 neDA-identified masons at each meeting, which includes a total of 4,500 masons across the country. On April 5, 2017, CMPort also signed a 3-year contract with NAITA, facilitated by HIP. In this agreement, HIP and NAITA will provide vocational training in industrial areas related to port operations. As an added value for the partnership, CMPort would strive to increase NAITA training structures, while NAITA would help the Hambantota International Port meet the standards needed to define training programs and qualification certifications, etc. The parent company Siam City Cement Public Company Limited meets the construction needs of the region.

Interns receive certificates of local and international recognition,” said Ray Ren, CEO of Hambantota International Port Group (Pvt) Ltd. The National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) is working to strengthen the national economy through a wide range of activities, including youth skills development and the challenge of human resource development in the country.
